Psalms of my mother the poet…

blackart2

My mother is many things, educator, mother, mentor, girl scout leader, Sunday school teacher, Gamma Phi Delta Sorer, Union leader, NAACP branch president, People’s community Service board member, co-worker, Church board member, Hamtramck Library board member, School Board member,  and many other positions that I’ve failed to mention. But, true to heart, she’s a poet, and I’m sharing two poems she shared with the family on Christmas. One of my family members refers to her as the Maya Angelou of our family.
